Alan Hadden is President of the GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) and has held this position since GSA was established in 1998. GSA represents leading GSM/EDGE/WCDMA-HSPA/HSPA+ and LTE suppliers, undertaking its own research to provide facts, analysis, reports, information papers and briefings explaining mobile market developments and trends. A strong brand, excellent relationships and links to operators, suppliers and other key stakeholders are major assets. The introduction and evolution of mobile broadband has earned GSA the highest industry trust and reputation worldwide, especially regarding the status of HSPA, HSPA+ and LTE network deployments and the supporting devices ecosystem. Alan also manages the co-operation and relationships with 3GPP, the GSM Association, and other leading international and regional organisations.
Previously Alan was on the senior management team of a PCN/GSM 1800 operator (which became T-Mobile UK), involved in start-up, launch, and expansion phases. He assisted with discussions with overseas regulators, investors and other key stakeholders which helped establish 1800 MHz as a mainstream band for new mobile businesses. He represented the company at ETSI, the GSM Association and the UMTS Forum. Before that time Alan was Industrial Advisor to the UK communications regulator (now Ofcom), working in the mobile communications field where he represented views influencing regulation and standardisation at national and international level.
