http://www.comsysmobile.com/

Comsys develops the industry's leading integrated digital baseband solutions for Mobile WiMAX, UMTS, EGPRS (EDGE), GPRS and GSM networks.

Comsys' offerings range from system IP for multimode 3G cellular terminals to a fully mobile WiMAX baseband processor (802.16e) offered to silicon and handset manufacturers.

Comsys' evolution to 4G includes an OFDM/A baseband processor with a flexible architecture and low power consumption, designed to support both TDD/FDD mobile WiMax versions, and future 3GPP-LTE.

Companies such as Texas Instruments, Quanta Computers and Datang Microelectronics choose Comsys to benefit excellent performance, accelerated time-to-market and reduced silicon costs.

2G/3G Solutions
Comsys provides comprehensive baseband solutions for chips, handsets and base station equipment. Designed from the start for multi-mode support, Comsys’ unique platform far outperforms other options that bring together multiple individual building blocks.

With support for EGPRS (EDGE), GPRS, GSM and UMTS, the modular platform represents an exceptionally flexible and cost-effective bridge to 4G. Robust and modular, Comsys solutions are rapidly and cost-effectively integrated with any protocol stack.

4G solutions - ComMAX (TM)
ComMAX is a full Mobile WiMAX baseband processor designed to provide silicon and handset manufacturers with a comprehensive, low power, multimode Cellular/Mobile WiMAX (802.16e) solution. Complemented by a handset reference design, the ComMAX chip includes an advanced implementation of the full PHY/MAC layer, enabling data oriented mobile internet applications. The ComMAX solution has been specifically designed with a flexible architecture to support current and future WiMAX profiles, including TDD and FDD. Optimized for low-power operation, ComMAX features an optimal software/hardware partitioning. The architecture incorporates a software-defined OFDM/A modem platform, and can support WiMAX, 3GPP LTE, 802.20 and future 4G technologies. ComMAX is designed for operation as a standalone baseband processor or as a Mobile WiMAX co-processor in a multimode reference design. Incorporating an advanced MAC processor with a neighbor-cell management engine, ComMAX supports high vehicular speeds and provides optimized handover capability. ComMAX also includes a DRM-compliant advanced security sub-layer enabling robust device authentication and secured connection, as well as MS and IP management.
