- To promote the evolution of GSM as the platform for delivery of third generation (3G) multimedia services
Objectives are achieved by delivering on key programs:
- Provide a single information resource for the industry including subscriber growth, GSM, EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA network deployments, device availability, service successes, evolution to LTE/SAE. GSA members have competitive advantage over other suppliers who are denied access to this key market intelligence
- Facilitate networking/dialogue between member companies for information sharing, business development opportunities, access to the global market
- Lobby governments/regulators, policy-makers to ensure the most favourable conditions for market development. Actions focus on Latin America, India, Asia, Africa
- Produce opinion papers and information papers which broaden and deepen industry knowledge and acceptance on the key issues
- Organize briefings for media & analysts
- Undertake actions at the global level and in the regions, including Africa, APAC, India, and Latin America for market opening and development
- Deliver enhanced dialogue with mobile operators. GSA organizes seminars including GSA Mobile Broadband Forum events, and relationship events for GSA member organisations and GSM/3G operators.
- Provide visibility for member companies via the GSA website, including via sponsorship opportunities, newsletters and other widely-distributed publications. Many GSA resources including studies/surveys are hosted/referenced on operators' and vendors' corporate Intranets
- Deliver enhanced vendor visibility via the Operators Zone, with global reach to over 2,300 key contacts from the majority of GSM/WCDMA-HSPA operators, and growing
