• To strengthen the promotion of GSM/EDGE/WCDMA-HSPA, Evolved HSPA (HSPA+) and LTE/SAE world-wide in new and existing markets
• To promote the evolution of GSM as the platform for delivery of third generation (3G) multimedia services enabled by WCDMA-HSPA, Evolved HSPA (HSPA+) and LTE/SAE

Objectives are achieved by delivering on key programs:

• Provide a single information resource for the industry including GSM, EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA network deployments, device launches and availability, services and applications, success stories, subscription growth, future evolution including Evolved HSPA (HSPA+), LTE/SAE and beyond.
• Provide additional resources and market intelligence in the Members Zone including operator and industry case studies, presentations, GSA-initiated surveys, etc. ensuring competitive advantage for GSA Member organisations
• Facilitate networking/dialogue between member companies for information sharing, business development opportunities, and access to the global market
• Lobby governments/regulators, policy-makers to ensure the most favourable conditions for market development.
  
• Produce opinion papers and information papers which broaden and deepen industry knowledge and acceptance on the key issues
• Organize regular briefings for media & analysts
• Undertake actions at the global level and in the regions, including Africa, APAC, India, Latin America and Russia for market opening and development
• Facilitate enhanced dialogue with between GSA member organisations and mobile operators. GSA organizes seminars including GSA Mobile Broadband Forum events, and relationship events for GSA member organisations and GSM/3G operators.
  
• Provide visibility for member companies via the GSA website, including via sponsorship opportunities, a dedicated page per Member including profile, contact information and success stories/press releases/product information/white papers, etc.
• Deliver enhanced vendor visibility via the Operators Zone, with global reach to thousands of key contacts from the majority of  GSM/WCDMA-HSPA operators worldwide.
