ICIN provides a unique impartial environment for open and honest technical dialogue in the area of intelligent communications services. This is acknowledged by the many professional engineering and scientific societies worldwide that have supported ICIN over the years. The conferences are both intimate and global, typically attracting 250 delegates from operators, equipment and software vendors, systems integrators, R&D centres and universities, from more than 30 countries. The ICIN community not only includes many influential thinkers but is also well known for its willingness to explore new ideas and business models.

The focus of ICIN 2008 is on supporting business models for a new open world. The aim is to bring together visionary ideas and perspectives on the application of intelligence in web and network technologies. ICIN is the ideal industry forum to explore the interplay between web and telecom technologies, services and players. ICIN 2008 will highlight future services, enablers and architectures that capitalize on the transition to an IP environment and lead to enhanced user expectations and experiences.

ICIN 2008 will include keynote presentations from industry leaders, providing insights into strategic thinking within the communications industry, as well as panel sessions providing the opportunity for interactive debate with invited experts. The conference will be preceded by a day dedicated to tutorials and workshops given by leading authorities to introduce delegates to key technical issues.

Submission of Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit extended abstracts presenting new research on services, enablers and architectures. ICIN welcomes proposals for papers concerning the interplay of intelligence in end-user devices, access networks, core network signalling and control, as well as applications, service architectures and business models which build on this interplay. Submissions that reflect new thinking and offer new perspectives will be favoured. Submissions should be either technical or business oriented; commercial presentations will be rejected. Submissions that are regarded as recycled presentations from other events or conferences will also be rejected.
