March 2010 GSA GSM/3G Market Update - GSM/EDGE, WCDMA-HSPA, HSPA+, LTE, Spectrum re-farming, Digital Dividend

The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) has published its latest GSM/3G Market Update. The world’s first LTE networks are now launched in Sweden and Norway, the number of operators committed to LTE deployments has grown to 59 in 28 countries, 80 operators have committed to HSPA+ deployments with 41 networks now launched, and the number of commercial HSPA networks has more than tripled in 3 years. HSUPA is now commercially launched in 52 countries by 98 operators. The number of HSPA user devices is rapidly growing, reaching 2,137 from approaching 214 suppliers. This issue covers:
