  • Key facts from the latest GSA surveys and reports:

  • 451 HSPA operators commercially launched in 174 countries (GSA survey: January 29, 2012)

  • 100% of WCDMA operators worldwide have also deployed HSPA

  • 339 commercial HSPA networks (75%), support 7.2 Mbps (peak DL) or higher

  • 196 HSUPA networks commercially launched in 93 countries, which means over 43% of HSPA operators have launched HSUPA

  • 117 HSUPA networks support up to 5.8 Mbps peak UL and another 12 networks support 11.5 Mbps peak

  • HSPA Evolution (HSPA+) is mainstream. There are 241 HSPA+ network commitments in 106 countries

  • 187 HSPA+ networks have entered commercial service in 96 countries, which means that over 41% of HSPA operators have commercially launched HSPA+

  • Taken together it means 285 operators are investing in LTE in 93 countries
